Soon
after arriving in New Zealand Alie gave birth
to a daughter (Linda).
In
1999, Alie's husband Gerrit Cook passed away,
and with her children having long flown the
family home Alie decided to re-evaluate her
life.
Determined
to find meaning and achieve excellence in her
own right, Alie, in the process of trying out
many different things, picked up a paint brush
and began to paint.
Alie
not having touched a brush since being a small
child found to her and everyones amazement,
her first works of art displayed astonishing
talent.
Subsequently
Alie has spent much of her time developing her
abilities to produce some of the fine works
you will find on this site.
Each work represented here involves many hours
of work and passion. It incorporates careful
planning, colour co-ordination and painstaking
brush-work.
After
settling the Waikato Region of New Zealand,
Alie spends time travelling the country side
and is always on the look-out for potential
sites to paint.
We
welcome you to Alies works. We hope you will
enjoy viewing them as much as we have enjoyed
presenting them for your pleasure.
